As noted in the key look article, Southwestern Folk looks more Santa Fe than flower child. For anyone who has ever visited Santa Fe, the city includes quite a mixture of cultures, especially those of Mexican and Native American descent. So this leads to Mexican-inspired embroidery on clothing, moccasins, or cowboy boots for sale in the marketplaces. In addition to the beautiful embroidery, woven sandals, purses, and jewelry define the southwest bohemian look embraced by so many in the city. And do not forget the fabulous variety of Indian folk art that inspires a bright but beautiful color palette for one's wardrobe.
Designers picked up on the beauty of the Southwest by creating some lovely items for the spring. Oscar de la Renta presented a collection that included brightly-embroidered fabrics while Louis Vuitton used embroidery as an accent on many garments. Bottega Veneta portrayed the folkie look by creating woven footwear and purses.

By the way, I had the opportunity and pleasure of visiting Santa Fe and Albuquerque last spring break, and I was really inspired by the people in those areas. They embrace this beautiful Southwestern Folk look every day and inspire traveling fashionistas like me. I will definitely be pulling out my New Mexican-found, woven scarf for spring outfits!

I own a pair of those woven earrings but in a brown colorway. I got mine for waaaay less at Target. Around $8. $22 seems overpriced to me.
