This week's lookbooker of the week is the lovely Louise Ebel, a 21 year old art history student from Paris. We picked Louise in honour of the Paris Haute Couture fashion week, which was all last week (Dedicated's round up coming tomorrow). You may have seen Louise before, not only is she a Lookbook favourite, she's been featured in magazines and blogs across the world (I mean this quite literally) and is apparently a good friend of Dedicated's fave blogger The Cherry Blossom Girl (a friendship circle I would dream of infiltrating - tee hee)

Her style is undoubtedly fashionable, but it's the unique quirks that make Louise's style so admirable, her cute thick framed trademarked glasses (which she actually needs unlike a lot of trendsters nowadays), little feather details, and clothing with that vintage feel that is effortlessly done. What also strikes you about Louise's lookbook page is the quality of the photography, you get the impression this lovely girl is followed around Paris by a gaggle of  Mario Testino's, and apparently she is (her photographers are always linked via her blog, some impressive work!)

Louise's style is in the details, and it all manages to come together in this glamorous, fabulous way that doesn't look over done and even on occasion artfully 'undone'. If you haven't guessed it already, I'm a huge fan, it's the kind of style that I long to be able to pull together every morning and something I continue to aspire to.

Pantone Fashion Colour Report Spring 2010: Tomato Purée

As we near the end of our Pantone spring color review, it is finally time to reveal Tomato Purée. Quite possibly my favorite of the lucky ten colors, this beautiful shade of red (with a slight hint of pink) never comes across as dull or unnoticeable. Far from being a quiet color, tomato purée (like aurora or violet) is perfect for making an outfit really pop. Whether the color shows up in a cute vintage bag, pretty pumps, bright lipstick, or floral dress, this red is definitely welcome and refreshing in spring fashion. Plus, as mentioned previously, tomato purée worn with turquoise looks divinely retro. Come on...you know you want to try that combo!  

Enjoy this beautiful color for spring and claim the title of "Lady in Red" with a gorgeous dress, playful romper, or lovely accessories.

Inspired?

January: a month renowned for bad weather, moody blues, winter clothes, and dark nights. Still, that doesn’t stop me from dressing like it is spring. A girl can dream, right? Warmth and style does not a happy marriage make, in my world. Though, I did find a bargain swing coat in Urban Outfitters for £20 down from £95!

My month has been inspired by an amalgamation of floral dresses and military boots, shirts, black tights and nude heels, vintage anything, hosiery and lingerie.

The bargain swing coat – the best thing I have ever bought. Seriously. I can wear it with anything and it gives any outfit a little bit of class. The safe black and white knit, means it rarely, if at all, clashes with anything. Absolutely fantastic buy…and save!

Military boots – I adore the way everyone seems to wear and look completely different in their military boots. They may be everywhere, but everyone has their own personal take on how to wear them. I’m not one for piling on the layers, a plaid shirt and a fancy pair of tights, with military boots, some floral enamel jewellery and my swing coat, is probably what you will find me dressed during the day. In the evening, I’ll pop on a floral dress, some sheer tights and chunky costume gold. A friend of mine however, teams his military boots with low crotch jeans, low cut tee’s, chunky knits and his signature changes-every-day hair.

Time piece necklaces – I’ve never really been a fan of watches, but I am very much in love with the statement time piece necklaces available at Urban Outfitters at the moment.

Sheer and lace lingerie – Lingerie has always been something I’ve spent time and money on hunting and buying. Nothing feels sexier than wearing beautiful, soft, sensual lingerie underwear your clothes, with maybe a strap and a bit of lace peeking out from low cut vest, oversized shirts and tee’s. I love this little set from Urban Outfitters; cute and reasonably priced.

Nudes – nude heels and pale legs, nude heels and black opaque tights and nude heels with jeans…nude heels and anything! I just adore nude heels. I have a beautiful pair of nude courts, with a crossover chunky elastic strap and a small platform and I just love these strappy wedges from UO. I am definitely going to save to buy these for the warmer, less rainy weather.

Pantone Fashion Colour Report Spring 2010: Turquoise

It's the last week of our Pantone Fashion Colours for Spring/Summer 2010 and we still have a couple of colours to wrap up. So here we have turquoise.

A long standing favourite of mine, loved for it's vibrancy and and unique pop, it's hard to believe that this colour is found in nature! Wear as an accent in jewelry, or feathers (as pictured!) or go all out and wear the colour by itself in a dress or, hot tip here (!) wear with 'tomato puree' (another Pantone Colour for Spring coming later in the week) for a funky retro tastic (oh dear... I should find a better phrase) look.

'Scuse all the parenthesis... I was feeling cheesy in my writing today, and often rely on them to display my lack of seriousness.... but all in all seriousness (see there I go again) turquiose is a beautiful colour that I hope to see a lot of this season.
