So I am by no means a light packer, yep, I'm that annoying person who holds up the line at the airport, unpacking and rearranging her suitcase. I've paid overages, I've wedged my suitcase on to the scales, balancing it so that it full weight is not there. Really I'm awful.

But for one week only I'm swearing off my over packing-itus in order to bring you vacation wardrobes. They're not exactly 'capsule wardrobes', I've never really understood them, but they're definitely on the lighter end of the scale.

Travel Week: The Perfect Plane Outfit

After much traveling in my young years I have finally developed the the perfect plane outfit. It became a necessity as I got use to flying the 11 hour trip back to Blighty every 3 months. (I wish I could still afford to return home quite so frequently)

Now it's just reserved for the mostly yearly plane journey back home and the occasional plane trip.

It's perfect for the following reasons:

1) It's soft & comfy
2) The leggings are stretchy (I'm a curler upper in my seat kinda girl)
3) The long cardigan wraps around like blanket
4) Layers for traveling between climates
5) It's still damn cool.

Combine it with the following accessories and you are set (or jet set rather!)

Travel Week: Luggage

So this week at Dedicated Follower of Fashion, we're thinking holidays (no not Christmas it's just what us Brits call a vacation!)

And to kick it all off what's better than some amazing luggage. And I mean amazing.

The Steamline Luggage collection is amazing taking vintage styling and improving on it with practical additions such as wheels and pull handles!

Absolutely gorgeous, and for good quality and stylish luggage is very affordable. Quite the rarity when it comes to luggage.

Inspired by Art Deco

Editors Note: A little flash forward top Fall from everyone's favourite intern Brittan:

I’ve always really loved the Art Deco era.  I’m very inspired by the works of Poiret, Erte and Jeanne Paquin.  I can really see traces of these styles on today’s runways and thought I would share some observations in collage form :)

I love the rich fabrics and draping of these two F/W 09 Chloe looks!

Anna Sui always has really fun, whimsical collections.  I love those celestial headdresses!  And is that Alexander Wang dress a twin of the Erte Illustration or What?!

Ok.  So I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that red Miu Miu skirt with the blue blouse.  Tears welled in my eyes.  Lord, I love fashion!  Haha. 

Anyway, Oriental Art was a huge influence on the Art Deco movement, which I think we can kind of see here in the colors, the prints, the tassels on those amazing Chloe pants, etc.  And, side note, notice the similarities in the Erte illustration, and the tops the Miu Miu models are wearing. See through.  LOVE IT.

Finally, look at the wonderful similarity in shapes between the illustrations and the coats and dresses shown.  I love the dropped shoulder seems and fitted hips. 

Ok, so think art deco.  Google image search Poiret, Erte and Paquin and get inspired by the goodness.

So I figured it was about time we shared the Lookbooker love with some American Beauties. So this weeks Lookbooker of the Week hails from Georgia.

Lana Greer is a '20 year old jetsetter from Georgia', with a theatrical sense of style. (I've definitely been digging the theatrics lately)

Her clothes are stylish and punching with attitude and it's all very, is ironic the word? Dramatic possibly.

It's really quite hard to put my finger on it. I guess you just imagine her to be a modern day Blanche DuBois. Especially when her looks are entitled 'Miss Me Baby?' and 'Money and Cigarettes'

Rebeckah

It's those darn Scandinavians again for this weeks Lookbooker of the Week. Too stylish for their own good.

But there's something special about Rebeckah Bjurmell, a 17 year old from Gothenburg, Sweden.It could be the photos, the styling, perhaps the clothes themselves, but her style has a film like quality. Each photo screams of a history and a story evolving before the lens.

Quite evocative for a picture of ones personal style. But then again much of her clothing has it's own story, sourced 'in the attic' or from mothers wardrobe which make you long to be a part of her clearly stylish brood!

Either way an impeccably dressed lady wouldn't you say?!
